Blood pressure differences I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. I take medications to keep it under control. When is the best time to take my meds? Should I not take the meds if the pressure readings seem good one day to the next? I am worried that on days when it seems normal on its own without taking the meds, my blood pressure might get to low if I take my normal dose. What blood pressure reading is to low? Can my blood pressure get to low and stop beating? How often should I check my blood pressure? Which side should I check? Should I be concerned about checking the right side? Sometimes I notice my right side is higher by about 10-12 pts is this a problem? What is the maximum pressure difference you should have from one side to the next? And should I be alarmed if it happens from time to time. Most of the time the arms pressures are close, rarely equal. thank you. |

Blood pressure differences ? This is a good question and maybe i can help you out with this . I have blood pressure problems also and we meaning you and i have to take the meds every day regardless if the pressures dont seem right at the time because they can change with a few minutes of taking the blood pressures and the medications are to make sure that we have good pressure all the time . so take this at the right time of the same time every day and i like to take them first thing of a morning after getting out of bed because the rest time makes the pressures good and when you start the day there is more pressures on you to get started . and the blood pressures will be steady and let you know if it isn't by making you feel weak and you can go back to the doctor if you feel very weak for a while . Now you are looking to far into the blood pressures issues and should not worry this much about this . This will run you crazy if you let it. Because blood pressures change all the time low to high and high to low even eating will cause a higher pressure . Now i like to take my blood pressure on the left side this is closer to the heart and is more in line with the heart i get a better reading and no the heart wont stop beating if the medication causes a drop in blood pressure and that why you need to stop taking the blood pressures so much. Its a worry to you and it wont make a diff if you have 10 to 12 points diff. so settle down and dont panic and let the doctor tell you all this and you are OK . Millions of people take this type meds every day and they just dont drop dead and iam not being harsh but just want you to relax.
