My experience was with a very traumatized foster child. It was given to him to calm him from tantrums, high anxiety and extreme PTSD. It would make him very sleepy within a half hour or so. The doctor had him increase his nightly dose to help him sleep and not have nightmares. He would fall asleep very quickly.
