Does blood pressure medication cause dry mouth? |

Yes, dry mouth can be a side effect of some blood pressure medications, especially central alpha agonists (Catapres, Tenex and others). To deal with the effects of dry mouth, try sipping water throughout the day, avoid caffeine and tobacco, and don't use alcohol-based dental rinses. Your dentist can also recommend toothpaste and other products for dry mouth.
