It is a question of getting used to a new taste. You are right that food tastes different without salt, but it actually does not taste bad. You should try adding lemon and other spices to the salads and see that salt is not really needed anymore.
In case you have high blood pressure it is also best to cook at home, because you cannot control the salt levels of pre fabricated foods. The other thing that you should be doing is drinking more water. Water will dilute the effect of salt if you still are eating salted products.
And of course the product with excess amount of salt should be kept aside. Like chips, salted peanuts, other seeds, nuts and snack with salt and spice mix.

The way to make food without salt is to cook at home. It is actually quite do-able. You will need to learn to look at all the ingredient labels while you cook to learn their sodium content. Anything with a high sodium content, don't use it. So, no Ramen noodles, no frozen commercially prepared meals.
I went from using lots of salt to not using it at all. I found the best way to get around this, and still have food taste good, was to replace the salt with spices or herbs. For example, with mashed potatoes, I make it the same way I used to, except instead of salt I add a small amount of garlic powder (don't over-do it; a little goes a long way!). Likewise, if I'm cooking roast meat, I sprinkle with onion powder and dried thyme (instead of salt). If you are willing to get into cooking ethnic foods, a lot of them have no salt but plenty of flavor (or you can omit the salt and it will still be highly flavorful), e.g. Indian curries.
Remember, instead of thinking 'cut out salt', think 'replace salt with something else' and it will be fine. Best wishes for your new adventures in cooking!
