Health concern

I am a 5' 5" 142 lb 20-year-old female. My weight stays between 140 and 145 pounds, However I have been experiencing quite a few symptoms that sometimes make life a little difficult. My symptoms include, bloating, gas, occasionally diarrhea and constipation, severe abdominal pains that come and go, food and drink cravings, anxiety/worry, restless sleep and problems staying asleep, constant runny nose with occasionally sneezing (2 months plus now), problems concentrating, growing intensity of memory lapses, occasional nausea, occasional loss of appetite, very low tolerance for cold temperatures, sweat easily, and occasional dizziness. I am on Nuvaring birth control, I positive I am not pregnant, I am not depressed (Have recently seen a counselor to be sure), I am STD and HIV free, I am in the military so I stay physically fit and exercise regularly, I eat a healthy diet (avoid caffeine and sugar and junk food), and irritable bowel syndrome has been ruled out by a physician. I also have very low blood pressure (average 93/64). The symptoms at first were okay to push through and I’m not one to normally go to the doctor because I’ve always had really good health. But with the increased intensity of the memory lapses and mental fog I am beginning to become a little more concerned. I am getting ready to deploy in 2 months and some of the symptoms would be a definite hassle to try and deal with. Any advice or suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated before I try to se

IBS is generally a dx of exclusion, not something they exclude first off.
That said...did they test you for celiac disease? Run any tests for allergies or intolerances? The first thing you should do is keep a food diary. List foods you eat, times and then symptoms experienced. See if a pattern emerges.
Try cutting out dairy for a few weeks, since dairy intolerance is extremely common to varying degrees.
Did they also screen for thyroid disorders?

If possible, you may want to see a doctor who isn't on base, I've heard that "civilian doctors" tend to look at more options for their patients than military doctors do for military personnel. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but second opinions never hurt anyone.
Good luck!

No I wasn't tested for any of those other things. I will definitely look into a civilian doctor and try to find some more answers. Thank you so very much!

Many of your symptoms are typical of hypothyroidism. The mental fog, memory lapses, low blood pressure, cravings, anxiety (severe, which can contribute to the intestinal distress), restlessness, fatigue, intolerance for cold temperatures, dizziness, etc.. Have you noticed that your mental function is slowed? I can only explain it as a pause before input actually "registers". Severe hypothyroidism can be accompanied with a sensation of intermittent internal trembling and mood swings.

Your symptoms of sneezing and a runny nose are not usually linked with hypothyroidism, but rather allergies. All hormone levels should be tested as hypothyroidism is often occurs with other hormonal imbalances. The condition cannot be positive diagnosed without a hormone test which is not routinely ordered with annual blood work. I do hope the cause will be identified soon. I wish you well.

Thank you. My fiance has been joking I'm moody and more needy lately, I normally don't PMS. Maybe I am. I thought maybe it was due to the birth control but definitely deserves looking into as well I suppose so I will definitely add that to my list of suspicions to take to the doctor with me. Appreciate the help! I hope is gets solved soon too!
