The problem with Ibuprofen is that it has the tendency to reduce or totally inhibit the effects of the drugs that treat HBP like amlodipine and drugs that contain captopril.Ibuprofen is also dangerous to people who don't have HBP in the sense that if you use it for a long time as your choice painkiller,you are at high risk of getting HBP.

If you have hypertension already, I would avoid, ibuprofen (as well as acetaminophen) like the plague, unless you absolutely had to take it, especially if you are a woman. Studies have shown that both these pain relievers may cause a 50 percent to 78 percent greater risk of getting hypertension even if you don't already have it! Obviously, if you do have high blood pressure, don't take either drug without first getting clearance from your doctor, and try to use them only occasionally and not regularly.
