You must reduce sodium in your diet. But in this situation, YOU MUST TOTALLY AVOID TAKING SALT IN YOUR FOODS.
Blood pressure often increases as weight increases. Losing just 10 pounds can help reduce your blood pressure significantly.
Regular physical activity — at least 30 to 60 minutes most days of the week — can lower your blood pressure by 4 to 9 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).
Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm Hg. This eating plan is known as the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet.
Consider boosting potassium. The best source of potassium is food, such as fruits and vegetables, rather than supplements. Some packaged food products list potassium on the labels. Talk to your doctor about the potassium level that's best for you.
Eat more fresh foods. Fruits, vegetables and unprocessed grains contain little sodium. Avoid alcohol consumption.
Avoid tobacco products and secondhand smoke..Drinking caffeinated beverages can temporarily cause a spike in your blood pressure. And some studies show that people who drink caffeine regularly have a higher average blood pressure, suggesting that caffeine might have a long-term impact.
Reduce your stress.Get regular health care.Visit your doctor regularly.
