Is having a heart rate of 40 bad with high blood pressure? I amcurrently taking high blood pressure medication and my blood pressure still is high. I am taking water pills, and cumadin. I was recently told I have congestive heart failure. I go for weekly blood work for the cumadin. I have been taking my heart rate and it's 40-45. I have an at home system and I took it at cvs & walmart they confirmed my heart rate. Can you suggested anything for me to do? |

40 is TOO low. Call your doctor NOW! I walked into an ER with a heart rate of 38 BPM after delivery of my last child. I was in congestive heart failure. It earned me a trip to another hospital to stay for a few days until they could regulate things. CALL NOW! This is not something to mess with. Good luck and best wishes.
