You can not draw any conclusions from what you report. If your blood pressure is controlled I assume that means you were prescribed drugs by a doctor, which you will have to go on taking for the rest of your life because, perhaps in a routine medical examination, it was found blood pressure was too high? But at your age that is perfectly normal and absolutely nothing to worry about ? All it seems to mean is the prescribed drugs are working so protecting you from possible harm to your health which might otherwise be caused by having high blood pressure.

Regarding your pulse rate, that does not give any categorical information on its own. Yes,.your pulse rate can be indicative of your heart rate which varies according to your state or relaxation or physical activity. So when you are involved in vigorous exercise, which is generally very good for your health or experiencing some very stressful situation in your thoughts which can not be good for your health it will go up temporarily,

A heart rate of 80 at rest does not seem to report any indication of a heart problem. Can I explain it technically, with everybody, when you fall into a peaceful sleep, It is your parasymphetic nerve that is active. signals along your vagus nerve act to sinuatrial node to slow the heart rate from its inherent rate of around 140 impulses per minute to a rate of around 70 per minute, which is termed "vagal inhibition", That happens to all of us when we relax, such as when we go to bed at night, regardless of our age or physical fitness or state of health.

But also all of us experience, either during or in anticipation of muscular activity the vagal inhibition lessens. That means our heart rate speeds up and may speed up even more when the sympathetic nerves come into action. This change from parasympathetic to sympathetic action is initiated in anybody by any influence on the cardiac center that tells it there is an extra need for increased blood output from our heart which can be fear or anger or low blood pressure or a reduction of oxygen from your bloody.

So do not make any assumptions there is anything whatsoever wrong with you, as I think you are worrying about nothing. Indeed if you are worrying unjustifiably when there is nothing wrong with you, that is precisely what could put your heart rate up without any justified cause or reason.. But that said, it might be very worthwhile to have a proper check out of your general health.

Dear Professor Sulham,

I am very thankful to you for your brief answer and your judgment about my unjustifiably worrying about my health is very true. I will definitely follow your advice and will have a proper check out of my general health. Once again very many thanks and best regards
