Your BP is extremely high. The normal BP should be 120/80. You need to take proper medicine, and maintain lifestyle. You should avid oral salt to add in your food menu directly. Relaxation is essential. You must sleep 8 hours during night. Take care yourself. Don't wake up very early in the morning.

I agree with the former contributor that the 'normal' blood pressure reading is 120 over 80.

High blood pressure is known as the 'silent killer'. Many people never know that they have high blood pressure as they have no symptoms of any kind, although some people may experience bad headaches with raised blood pressure, but that apparently is rare.

The first thing that could tell you that your blood pressure is abnormal may well be a heart attack or stroke, so it is very important to catch it before this happens.

Get regular checks at the doctor or pharmacy, if your blood pressure is raised on one occasion go and get it checked again within the week and if it is raised on more than two consecutive occasions it is vital that you see your doctor and talk to him/her regarding medication.

The best way to keep your blood pressure in the 'normal' range is to keep your weight down and exercise regularly. Eat healthily with lots of fruit and vegetables and not too much red meat. Cut salt out of your diet completely. Eat oily fish like salmon, tuna and sardines at least three times per week. Look after yourself and try to achieve a good work, life balance.

Stage 1 hypertension is a systolic pressure (top number) exceeding 140 and a diastolic over 90. However, to diagnose hypertension those numbers have to be confirmed at three consecutive doctor's visits.

Have you been taking your blood pressure at home or possibly at the pharmacy? There are several reasons for false high values. One is a blood pressure cuff that doesn't fit correctly and another is the cuff applied over your sleeve. Your blood pressure also increases if you just had a cigarette or if you are talking while your pressure is being taken. Make sure you are getting accurate readings by confirming with your health care provider.

Yes make sure you are getting enough omegas, from oily fish, avocados, linseed oil.
Eat natural unprocessed foods. Lots of fruit and veg.
Avoid normal table salt.
Avoid sugar
Avoid caffeine
Importantly, make sure you're drinking lots of water. Too little water
consumption thickens the blood, reduces blood volume and therefore forces
the blood vessels to tighten, increasing the blood pressure. Too many animal products and proteins lead to thickening of the basal membranes of blood vessel walls, also tightening the blood vessels.
You should drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day.
Take time for yourself for relaxation.

Best wishes

What is considered normal blood pressure does not change with age or weight once a person is an adult. The upper range of what is considered normal for blood pressure in an adult is: 120/80; although, there is very good evidence that people whose blood pressure runs in 110/70 range live longer lives, due to decreased risk of stroke and/or heart attack.

You should seek medical evaluation and treatment as soon as possible. If you do have health insurance try the county or state health department or see if there is a safety-net clinic (a clinic that provided healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured) in your area. There are many excellent medications available for the treatment of blood pressure and many are very inexpensive now.

Uncontrolled blood pressure can result in many medical problems and even death. For many years, I have told patients who said they had to die from something, that there are some things worse than death. Among these things, are congestive heart failure which result in not being able to walk across around room, or stoke, which can completely paralyze a person. These are two of the major consequences of poorly controlled blood pressure. It just is not worth the risk.

The two things that are most beneficial for high blood pressure, other than taking medication, are getting regular exercise (45-60 minutes of brisk walking each day) and strictly limiting salt in your diet. Remember that most the salt in our diets does not come from the salt shaker at the table. Canned and most processed foods are very high in salt, and eating out is a major source of salt. Learn to read food labels and check the amount of sodium in what you eat. A general rule of thumb is to compare the number of calories per serving with the milligrams of sodium for serving. If the milligrams of sodium is more than twice the number of calories, that is too much sodium for a person with high blood pressure.

I hope this is helpful!
