Which is better for lowering Blood Pressure, Fish Oil or Soya Oil? Hypertension is the term used to describe high blood pressure, but which is much better, Fish Oil or Soya Oil? |

Hi,
I would recommend a good quality fish oil over the soy. Although both have anti-inflammatory, and anti-hypertensive properties, there have been studies showing that fish oil provides superior outcomes to soy oil.
This is because fish oil contains higher levels of Omega 3, which is the active ingredient. You would need to take more soy oil to get the same effect.
3g of fish oil daily has been found in research as the effective dose for hypertension and arthritis relief. Krill Oil is more potent than fish oil, and studies suggest that 1.5g of Krill oil is as effective as 3g of fish oil.
The only other factor would be allergies - if you are allergic to nuts, soy oil may pose a problem. If allergic to seafood, fish and krill oil may pose a problem.
Also, people on medication should always consult the doctor before taking high doses of these supplements - they can interact with many medications, especially heart and blood pressure medications.

I am 48 yrs old i take zestoretic 10/12.5 twice a day i recently added flax seed oil to my diet but i have noticed i am increasingly more tired each day could this combo be bring my blood pressure or heart rate down to low? i find all i want to do is sleep.
